Not Real Snow??

So everyone around here keeps telling me that these aren't "REAL" snows and I should just wait until there is one. Casen and Kinley don't know the difference and they LOVE it! When it snows, there is no dragging them inside all day. Most of the time not even to eat!
Yesterday and after school. It was cold and windy. The snow was blowing sideways. BUT they didn't seem to care!

August

Ok so we had a very busy August.  First my family came to see us and we had a week full of fun, exciting times!
Kinley turned 4 and we had a small family party for her!
Both of the kids started school.  Casen is in Kindergarten and Kinley goes to pre-school 2 days a week.

We bought a tent and decided to"camp out" in the backyard to try it out!

Hammitt Family Reunion

We started the Family Reunion having a small birthday party for Kinley.  Her birthday is not for another month but decided to have the party with the family.

Fun in the Lake

Casen going down the Camp water slide!  Once again, he loved it!

Casen tried the zip line for the firs time this year.  He was a little nervous at first, but once he did it he was on it the whole swim time!

Memaw Hammitt bought matching outfits for Maddy and Kinley to wear at the reunion.

A sad picture.  This was our first time back to IL since Grandpa passed.  After church everyone went to his grave site.  We all took pictures with Grandma.

Papaw's Water Slide!

A few weeks ago I drove with the kids to Missouri from Colorado to hang out with Ben's parents.  Ben's Dad, or Papaw has built a water slide down the back of his house for the kids to play on!  It is fast, long and really fun!  Casen loved it! I couldn't get him off of it the days we were there.  Kinley...well...she didn't like it so much.  I finally got her to go a little more than halfway up the slide and she fell off the tube at the bottom and wouldn't do it again.  She was just happy playing in the water at the bottom.

Sorry the video is sideways!

My Little Fish!

My Little Fish!  Casen and Kinley have been taking swim lessons for the past two weeks.  Today was their last session.  I was a little worried when Kinley started that she was going to run from her instructor.  I'm pretty sure that is what I did when I first took lessons, according to my mom.  But she has done great!  She will finally put her head under the water.  Before these lessons, she would freak-out during bath time when water would go into her face!  They were actually sad when the lessons ending today, so I signed them up for another sessions later in the summer!

Their goggles crack me up!

They even taught them boat safety and practiced with life jackets!

Only in Colorado!

Only in Colorado can you ride a train up 14,000ft., play in the snow and then come down where it's sunny and play in the water.  We rode the train on the Cog Railroad up to the top of Pike's Peak while Ben's parents were here this past weekend.  We had a blast!  Any of you that would like to come visit us, this is a must see!
Getting ready to start our ride up the mountain.

One of the views from the train!

And Kinley

Here's the sign to prove we made it up!!
This the park that we went to after we rode the train.  It was called America the Beautiful Park.  It has a huge fountain in the middle of it that kids or whoever can play in!

Grandma and Papa came to visit this past weekend.  We went to Garden of the Gods since they have not been before.  We also went fishing and relaxed on the deck while the kids played in the sprinklers.   It was a fun a weekend!!
